Collectors
Represented in the Herbarium -- Fungi and Lichens
Derived in part from Holmgren,
P. et al., A short description of the collections of The New York
Botanical Garden Herbarium (NY). Brittonia 8: 285-296. 1996. This
list is a work in progress.
The goal is to include all NYBG
staff members, collectors with more than 1000 collections in the
herbarium, plus all those whose collections serve as vouchers for
published botanical studies.
Names link to the Virtual
Herbarium record for the collector. The first number given
derives from Garden records; the second indicates the approximate
number of collections that have already been cataloged. Following the
link leads to database records details for these collections. The
judgment
(sometimes educated guess) as to whether the collections at NY
represent the collector's original collections or a significant subset
thereof is derived from institutional records, Index
Herbariorum and Taxonomic
Literature II.
