Images of plant specimens displayed through the Virtual Herbarium may be used for scientific or educational purposes without charge, although permission is required for their use, and the source of the image should be acknowledged or cited as described below. These images are displayed in the JPEG format, and thus are probably not suitable for print publication.

Use of Original (TIFF format) Images from which Virtual Herbarium Images are Derived:

High resolution (TIFF format) images suitable for print publication are available for all plant specimens displayed through the Virtual Herbarium. There is a fee for the use of these images; please see Fees for the Use of Original Virtual Herbarium Images
